The highlight of this month was attending the the annual LATA event hosted in the Terrace Pavilion at House of Commons. The evening was hosted by MP Mark Menzies – Chairman of the APPG for Latin America. In his welcome speech he gave a special mention to Costa Rica and spoke on how the direct flights with BA has help make UK the leading market for European tourism in Costa Rica and hopes that this only grows in the upcoming years.
We also met with Minister Counsellor and Consul General Jorge Aguilar from the UK embassy of Costa Rica. It was a great opportunity to catch up and discuss all upcoming campaigns and the work we are doing with travel agents to encourage bookings to Costa Rica.
The event was a chance to catch up with key tour operators and other Latin American Tourist boards. The guest of honor on the evening was Journey Latin America who were awarded for their years of service in the tourism industry and the passion they have to encourage UK tourism to Latin America.
