This month the UK office has been traveling around the UK with travel operators Cox and Kings. Costa Rica was the official sponsor for Cox and Kings training evenings in Edinburgh, Newcastle, Gerrard Cross, Maidstone and Norwich. The evenings were a chance for small groups of travel agents (no more than 30) at each event to spend a sit=down dinner event with the tourist board and learn more about the destination.
the dinners started with an hour of networking and meeting agents. Many had booking or inquiries and wanted itinerary ideas from the UK reps for Costa Rica. The networking lead on to the sit-down dinner presentations. The UK reps from the tourist board gave a detailed 15-minute presentation highlighting Costa Rica.
The events were a great way to wrap 2018 and start promoting Costa Rica before the peak booking season in January.
Overall feedback from agents was Costa Rica has seen an increase in interest with families due to the destination offering many options for all family members but most importantly considered safe.
