{"id":1791,"date":"2020-11-02T15:59:00","date_gmt":"2020-11-02T15:59:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.puravidauniversity.eu\/uk\/?p=1791"},"modified":"2020-11-16T12:18:29","modified_gmt":"2020-11-16T12:18:29","slug":"costa-rica-positions-itself-as-a-sanctuary-on-its-new-european-recovery-campaign","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.puravidauniversity.eu\/uk\/costa-rica-positions-itself-as-a-sanctuary-on-its-new-european-recovery-campaign\/","title":{"rendered":"Costa Rica positions itself as a \u201csanctuary\u201d on its new European recovery campaign"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"200\" src=\"https:\/\/www.puravidauniversity.eu\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2020\/10\/Screenshot-2020-10-30-161532-1024x200.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1792\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.puravidauniversity.eu\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2020\/10\/Screenshot-2020-10-30-161532-1024x200.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.puravidauniversity.eu\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2020\/10\/Screenshot-2020-10-30-161532-300x59.png 300w, https:\/\/www.puravidauniversity.eu\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2020\/10\/Screenshot-2020-10-30-161532-768x150.png 768w, https:\/\/www.puravidauniversity.eu\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2020\/10\/Screenshot-2020-10-30-161532.png 1033w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitcostarica.com\/uk\/\">Costa Rican Tourism\nBoard<\/a> (ICT) has just launched <em>Costa\nRica Sanctuary<\/em> \u2013 the new European recovery campaign to position the country\nas a \u2018safe\u2019destination and to inspire visitors to travel post Covid-19.\nThe aim of the campaign \u2013 which will have renowned TV presenter, Julia Bradbury,\nas one of its UK ambassadors &#8211; is to build back trust with consumers and to showcase\nCosta Rica as the ultimate natural escape: a \u2018sanctuary\u2019. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Costa Rica\u2019s sector-wide Covid-19 recovery efforts were recently recognised\nby the World Travel &amp; Tourism Council (WTTC), who gave Costa Rica its <em>Safe Travels<\/em> stamp, which allows\ntravellers to identify destinations and businesses which have adopted the\nglobal standardised health and hygiene protocols.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To launch Costa Rica Sanctuary in the UK, Costa Rica\u2019s first\nauthentic content-focused channel (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.costarica-sanctuary.com\">www.costarica-sanctuary.com<\/a>) has been created. The new\nsanctuary channel, which will act as the main activity hub, will showcase the <em>real<\/em> Costa Rica through <em>real<\/em> eyes \u2013 individuals who will explain\nhow they found their \u2018sanctuary\u2019 in Costa Rica through a variety of inspiring\nvideos and stories sit across five pillars: culture; adventure; wellness;\nnature &amp; wildlife; and sustainability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some of these personalities include well-known faces such as British\npresenter and documentary specialist, Julia Bradbury. Julia, who recently\nreturned from her second trip to Costa Rica, will be showcasing her \u2018sanctuary\u2019\nthrough a series called \u2018Tico Thursdays with Julia Bradbury\u2019. These will be\nunveiled throughout the month of November on Visit Costa Rica\u2019s UK <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/visit_costaricauk\/?hl=en\">Instagram<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/visitcostaricauk\/\">Facebook<\/a> channels. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other recognisable names who are also\nparticipating in the Costa Rica Sanctuary campaign are travel writer and film-maker,\n<a href=\"https:\/\/costarica-sanctuary.com\/2020\/09\/24\/find-culture-and-adventure-in-costa-rica-an-evening-with-ash-bhardwaj\/\">Ash Bhardwaj<\/a>; travel photographer and writer, <a href=\"https:\/\/costarica-sanctuary.com\/2020\/10\/06\/photography-event\/\">Ian Mallory<\/a> (who will be doing a photography masterclass on\nwildlife photos); top UK travel blogger, Chloe Gunning (<a href=\"https:\/\/costarica-sanctuary.com\/2020\/10\/01\/adventures-in-costa-rica\/\">Wanderlust Chloe<\/a>); and editor-in-chief of Wanderlust magazine, <a href=\"https:\/\/costarica-sanctuary.com\/2020\/10\/06\/find-sustainability-in-costa-rica-an-evening-with-lyn-hughes-and-friends\/\">Lyn Hughes<\/a>, who will be talking about sustainability in\nCosta Rica in an upcoming live session. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Costa Rica Sanctuary campaign has also rolled out in other\nEuropean countries including Spain, France, Germany, Belgium and the\nNetherlands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gustavo Segura Sancho, Costa Rica\u2019s Tourism Minister, said: \u201cWe\nwant to position our country as an \u2018aspirational\u2019 destination; a \u2018sanctuary\u2019 in\nthe middle of the global pandemic. Those willing to travel should really count\non Costa Rica &#8211; a place with no real crowds and where the vast majority of\nactivities take place outdoors.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Visitors from all over the world are now allowed to enter Costa\nRica as long as they complete a digital epidemiological form and have travel\ninsurance that covers accommodation in case of quarantine and medical expenses\nfor acute illness.
