{"id":1650,"date":"2020-03-17T11:04:52","date_gmt":"2020-03-17T11:04:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.puravidauniversity.eu\/uk\/?p=1650"},"modified":"2020-03-17T11:25:43","modified_gmt":"2020-03-17T11:25:43","slug":"1650-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.puravidauniversity.eu\/uk\/1650-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Statement of the Costa Rican Tourism Board in relation to COVID-19"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"503\" height=\"186\" src=\"https:\/\/www.puravidauniversity.eu\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2020\/03\/ICT-logo.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1651\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.puravidauniversity.eu\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2020\/03\/ICT-logo.jpg 503w, https:\/\/www.puravidauniversity.eu\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2020\/03\/ICT-logo-300x111.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 503px) 100vw, 503px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Given the importance of preventing and avoiding the spread of the\ncoronavirus, which causes the COVID-19 disease that was declared an\ninternational pandemic, the Costa Rican Tourism Board (ICT) informs its tourism\npartners that the Government of the Republic of Costa Rica has ordered that\nonly Costa Rican nationals and residents may enter the country for 25 days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The measure is effective from 18 March 2020 23.59 until 12 April 2020\n23.59. This applies for all routes by sea, air and land.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Upon entering the country, Costa Rican nationals and residents will\nreceive a health order and will have to carry out a compulsory and preventive\nisolation period of 14 days at their homes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>International visitors currently in Costa Rica will be able to leave the\ncountry in an orderly fashion and must co-ordinate with their airlines or\ntravel agencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a health decision to protect the right to life and health of\npeople, a fundamental right that the State must protect. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since the beginning of the emergency in January, the country implemented\nthe COVID-19 protocols that included international airports, land and seaports,\nand owners and managers of tourism services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following the detection of the first cases in Costa Rica on 6 March,\nmeasures were progressively taken to suspend activities with mass public, close\neducational centres and apply remote working for public officials and those\nprivate companies that consider it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is important to note that the Costa Rican health system is one of the\nbest ones in Latin America. By constitutional mandate, and in accordance with\nthe 1961 Universalisation Act, <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>public health services are accessible to all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Questions &amp; answers:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>1. When will the restriction on\nentry into the country for non-nationals apply? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As of this Wednesday, 18 March 2020 at 23.59 until Sunday, 12 April 2020\n23.59.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2. What happens if I am a visitor\nand I want to leave Costa Rica on those dates?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you want to leave the country during that period, please contact your\ntravel agency or airline to schedule your departure.&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>3. Will flights be cancelled or cut\ndown?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is expected that airlines will cut down or cancel flights during the\n25-day period in which this restriction applies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>4 Can Costa Rican nationals leave\nthe country?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yes, but only in cases of force majeure.
